The film "Searching for Freedom: The Holy Land Foundation" is a two part documentary focusing on the story of the Holy Land Foundation, established in the late 80's by three Palestinian-Americans. The foundation aimed to supply humanitarian aid to the Palestinians in Palestine and countries hosting Palestinian refugees, it later became the largest charity association in the US to distribute humanitarian aid to Palestinians. After 9/11, the former US President George W. Bush issued a decision to shut down the Holy Land Foundation and freeze its assets. Five of the Holy Land Foundation's members were charged with funding terrorism and sending money to Hamas, and were (eventually) convicted after two trials based on dubious evidence.
The film is in two parts. Please see the full description towards the bottom of the page for the link to Part II of the documentary. | Films/Videos | |

The Present shows the daily abuse and indignity faced by Palestinian people under the apartheid system. A man and his young daughter go shopping for a gift for his wife.
Content Notes: Netflix classifies this as TV-MA but I’m honestly not sure why as it only lists “language” as a reason for the rating. I did watch this entire film and I don’t remember hearing much (any) swearing, but swearing also doesn’t bother me so…watch with kids at your own risk. No graphic violence.
